The Cake Care, Transport & Slicing Masterclass
Because our cakes are made with 100% pure Amul dairy butter and Belgian couverture rather than synthetic hydrogenated shortenings, they respond naturally to ambient warmth. Follow our 4 simple steps to preserve culinary perfection.
Transport Level on the Car Floorboard
Never place a celebration cake box on a car seat (bucket seats slope backwards, which causes tall tiers to tilt). Always place the box flat on the front passenger floorboard with the car air conditioning set to cold.
Immediate Refrigeration (4°C – 6°C)
Upon arrival at your home or Pune venue, place the cake box immediately into the refrigerator. Avoid storing near pungent items like onions, garlic, or cooked curries, as pure dairy butter absorbs ambient aromas.
Temper 20 Minutes Before Cake Cutting
Cold dairy butter and Belgian Callebaut ganache are naturally firm when chilled. Bringing the cake to ambient room temperature 15 to 20 minutes before lighting candles allows the ganache to soften into its silken, melt-in-the-mouth glory.
The Chef's Hot-Water Knife Technique
Dip a long chef knife into a tall jug of hot water. Wipe the blade dry with a clean cloth. Slice straight down without sawing. Wipe and redip between every slice for picture-perfect, clean bakery edges.
How to Maximize Slices for Pune Celebrations
Traditional Wedge Cut
Best for 0.5 kg to 1 kg round cakes. Slice triangular portions from center-point outwards. Yields 6–10 classic celebration slices.
Event Grid Cut (For 2 kg+)
For large birthday cakes or corporate bakes, score parallel lines 1.5 inches apart, then cut across horizontally. Yields up to 25 neat rectangular finger portions.
Tiered Cake Disassembly
For wedding centerpieces, remove the top tier first using a cake spatula, remove internal food-safe dowel supports, and slice each tier independently.
